About Hope Ministries
Hope Ministries has been serving people in need in central Iowa since 1915. They provide food, clothing, shelter and life recovery programs for men, women and children out of seven ministry centers around Des Moines. Hope Ministries mission is to rescue those who are homeless, hungry, abused or addicted, providing opportunities for hope, recovery and restoration through the love of Jesus Christ.

Milk Donation
Hope Ministries has been one of our longest-standing outreach partners, and our commitment began with a simple gift—milk. That tradition continues today!
Each year, The Ridge provides milk for their community meal site, where more than 300 meals are served daily. That’s over 135 gallons every month!
i58 Sponsorship
In 2026, the Ridge began sponsoring a suite for a life recovery family in their new women’s center.
Based on Isaiah 58:7–10, i58 Sponsors help provide the essentials — food, shelter, clothing — and the guidance people need to take their next steps toward lasting life change.
The Ridge chose Isaiah 41:10 to be displayed on the suite door as a reminder of God’s strength and presence.
Please continue to cover the sponsored suite, Room 207, in prayer, asking for restoration and peace for the mom and children who will call it home.

Hope Ministries serves three free meals to community members every day at their community meal site, connected to Bethel Mission men’s emergency shelter at 1310 6th Avenue, Des Moines.
Volunteers from The Ridge serve help serve these meals on the fourth Thursday of each month. We meet at the church parking lot at 3:30 for those who want to carpool.
Those just getting off work downtown can meet us at Bethel Mission at 4 p.m.
Anyone age 13 and older is welcome to serve (though those under 18 are encouraged to serve with a parent).
